"The outdoors has always been a major part of my life since the day I was born. I grew up in small town Arkansas with a fishing pole or a ball in my hand every day. I was taught at a young age to hunt and shoot, and that foundation still burns in me today. At the age of 15, I was introduced to my first quail hunt and instantly fell in love with upland hunting and birddogs. After a very successful high school athletic career, where I was All-District, All-Conference, and All-State in football, basketball, and track, I was fortunate enough to receive an athletic scholarship to Arkansas Tech University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. I returned home and was introduced to bird dogs once again. I began buying and breeding pointers and started field-trialing my dogs. After a couple of years, I began to win field trials and later had several champion dogs. In a 6-year span, my dogs had won 73 trials, 7 State Classics, Regional Championship, 7 Dog Of The Year Awards from 3 different states, 1 National Dog of the Year Award, and 1 National Handler of the Year. I also raised Labrador Retrievers and Tennessee Walking Horses. Duck hunting is now my favorite, due to the lack of quail. My other activities include avid turkey hunter, cooking and spending time with my best friend and wife, Kristi. I am involved with the following organizations:
